Open Data 2007 - Can’t Wait!

Attentrust.org and Reuters are sponsoring this conference, which is being held next week March 12-13 at Reuters in NYC. I was flattered by being asked to participate (thanks, Seth), and look forward to being fully engaged in dialogue about open data. From the conference wiki, here is the definition of Open Data:

Open Data is to media what Open Source is to technology. It is an
approach to content creation that explicitly recognizes the value of
implicit user data. The Internet is the first medium to give a voice to
the attention that people pay to it. Successful Open Data companies
listen for and amplify the rich data that their audiences produce.

Needless to say, this is a pretty important, rich, multi-facted topic that one can discuss and debate from an array of perspectives. And based upon the conference attendees - Esther Dyson, Michael Parekh, Scott Rafer, Seth Goldstein and many other luminaries and heroes of the online world - I am sure the conversations will be insightful, stimulating and action-packed. I will report back mid-week after fully experiencing the conference and give you my impressions of key take-aways.
